What Competitive Intelligence tracks
When Klove runs a prompt and an AI platform names three CRMs, a project management tool, and two agencies — Klove records all of them. Over time, you build a live picture of the competitive landscape as AI sees it.Share of voice
The percentage of AI responses where each brand is cited, across your full prompt set and selected time period.
Position comparison
Where each competitor is mentioned in the response — first, second, or further down — tracked over time.
Sentiment benchmark
How each competitor is described: positive, neutral, or negative. Lets you see whether AI frames a rival as the default choice or qualifies its recommendation.
Source breakdowns
The specific URLs AI platforms cite when recommending competitors — the exact sources building their authority in your category.
How to add competitors
1
Open Competitive Intelligence
Navigate to Competitive Intelligence in your Klove workspace sidebar.
2
Add a competitor
Click Add Competitor and enter the brand name and domain. Klove will automatically begin tracking that brand across all the prompts you’re already monitoring.
3
Set your comparison view
Use the platform filter to compare visibility on a specific AI platform, or view aggregate data across all monitored models.
4
Review the rankings board
The competitor rankings board shows share of voice for each tracked brand, with week-over-week movement indicators. You can sort by platform, prompt category, or time range.
Key metrics explained
Share of voice
Share of voice shows what percentage of AI responses — across your prompt set — cite each brand. If Klove runs 100 prompts and your brand appears in 34, a competitor appears in 27, and another appears in 14, those are your share-of-voice figures. This is the primary metric for understanding relative AI visibility in your category.Sentiment benchmark
AI platforms don’t just cite brands — they frame them. “HubSpot is the most popular choice” carries different weight than “HubSpot is a good option if you need something simple.” Klove classifies the sentiment of each brand mention so you can see whether AI is enthusiastically recommending a competitor, treating them as a safe default, or qualifying their recommendation with caveats.Position comparison
The first brand mentioned in an AI response gets disproportionate attention. Position data shows the median position each competitor occupies in responses where they’re cited — and whether that position is moving up or down over the tracking period.Source breakdown by competitor
This is the most actionable view. For each competitor, Klove surfaces the specific domains and URLs that AI platforms cite when recommending them. These are the sources building their AI authority — review sites, editorial roundups, third-party guides, and their own pages that have earned trust. This list is your content and outreach roadmap.Use cases
Find content gaps. If a competitor consistently earns AI citations for “best for enterprise teams” prompts and your brand doesn’t appear at all, Klove surfaces the sources AI uses to justify that recommendation. Those are the pages you need to appear on or replicate. Spot sentiment trends. A competitor whose sentiment shifts from positive to neutral over 30 days may have generated negative press or product issues that AI is beginning to reflect. Act before AI’s opinion of your category reshapes buyer perception. Identify which sources AI trusts in your category. Source breakdowns tell you the exact review sites, comparison guides, and media outlets that appear repeatedly in AI citations for your competitors. Earning mentions in those sources is the highest-leverage off-page action available. Benchmark your progress. Use share-of-voice and position trends as a reporting metric to show how your AI visibility strategy is closing the gap with category leaders.Connecting intelligence to action
Competitive Intelligence data feeds the Klove Moves engine, which turns visibility gaps into a prioritised list of on-page and off-page actions. When Klove identifies a source AI uses repeatedly for a competitor but never for you, it surfaces a recommended action — pitch for inclusion, create a comparable guide, or build a direct comparison page — so the insight becomes a task, not just a data point.Prompt Monitoring
