# How to track your brand visibility in AI search results

> Learn how to set up prompt monitoring in Klove, choose the right prompts to track, and interpret your visibility score and share-of-voice data.

Klove's Prompt Monitoring feature lets you track exactly how AI assistants describe and position your brand in real responses — across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek R1, Grok, and Llama. This guide walks you through adding your brand, choosing the right prompts, selecting AI platforms, and reading your visibility dashboard.

<Steps>
  ### Add your brand to Klove

  When you first log in, Klove will prompt you to create a workspace and connect your brand.

  1. Go to **Settings → Workspace** and click **Create workspace**.
  2. Enter your **brand name** exactly as it appears in market (e.g. `Acme CRM`, not `acme`).
  3. Enter your **website URL** so Klove can crawl your pages and understand your offering.
  4. Select your **country** and **language** — this determines which regional AI responses Klove monitors.

  Klove auto-crawls your site after workspace creation and builds a content profile used to suggest prompts in the next step.

  <Tip>
    Use the exact casing and spelling your customers use. If your brand is referred to in multiple ways (e.g. `Acme` and `Acme Corp`), you can add these as aliases later in **Settings → Brand → Brand Name Variations**.
  </Tip>

  ### Choose the prompts you want to monitor

  Prompts are the queries Klove runs daily across your selected AI platforms. The prompts you pick determine what you measure — so choosing the right mix matters.

  Navigate to **Prompt Monitoring → Add Prompts**. You can either accept Klove's AI-generated suggestions (based on your site crawl) or add your own.

  **Prompt types to include:**

  | Prompt type | What it measures | Examples |
  | ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
  | **Category queries** | Whether AI recommends you when buyers are exploring a category — the highest-value signals | `best CRM for small teams`, `top project management tools for agencies` |
  | **Comparison queries** | How AI positions you against named competitors — crucial for conversion-stage visibility | `Acme vs HubSpot`, `alternatives to Salesforce for startups` |
  | **Brand queries** | How AI describes you when your name is mentioned directly — catch misrepresentations and hallucinations | `what is Acme CRM`, `Acme CRM pricing`, `Acme CRM reviews` |

  <Tip>
    Prioritise **category queries** over brand queries. If someone already knows your brand name, they'll find you. The bigger opportunity is appearing when buyers are choosing between solutions and haven't typed your name yet.
  </Tip>

  Aim for a mix: 60% category and comparison prompts, 40% brand prompts. You can adjust based on your plan's prompt allowance (70 prompts on Essentials, 250 on Pro).

  ### Select the AI platforms to monitor

  After adding prompts, choose which AI platforms Klove should run them on.

  Navigate to **Prompt Monitoring → Models** and toggle on the platforms relevant to your audience:

  * **ChatGPT** — highest consumer search volume
  * **Perplexity** — strong with technical and research audiences
  * **Google AI Overviews** — critical for brands with existing SEO presence
  * **Gemini** — Google's AI assistant, distinct from AI Overviews
  * **Claude** — popular in productivity and developer workflows
  * **DeepSeek R1** — growing audience in technical categories
  * **Grok** — X/Twitter-adjacent audiences
  * **Llama** — open-source ecosystem

  <Note>
    Klove runs prompts via **real browser sessions**, not vendor APIs. This reflects what real users actually see — API responses differ significantly from live product responses and would give you inaccurate data.
  </Note>

  Essentials plans cover 3 AI models; Pro plans cover 5. Start with the 2–3 platforms where your buyers are most active, then expand.

  ### Read your visibility dashboard

  Once Klove has run your prompts (results appear within 24 hours and update daily), navigate to **Prompt Monitoring → Dashboard**.

  **What each metric means:**

  * **Visibility score** — The percentage of your tracked prompts where your brand is mentioned in the AI response. A score of 72% means AI mentions you in 72 out of every 100 relevant queries.
  * **Position** — Where in the AI response your brand appears. Position 1 means your brand is the first named. Lower positions still count as visibility but carry less influence.
  * **Sentiment** — Whether the AI's language about your brand is positive, neutral, or negative. Check this per platform — sentiment can vary significantly between ChatGPT and Perplexity.
  * **Share of voice** — Your brand's citations as a proportion of total brand mentions across all responses for that prompt set. If you receive 34% share of voice in your category, competitors share the remaining 66%.
  * **Cited sources** — The specific URLs the AI pulled from when generating responses that mention you or your competitors. These are the new backlinks: pages cited frequently are the most influential assets in your category.

  Click into any individual prompt to see the full AI response, the sources cited, and how results have changed over time.
</Steps>

<Note>
  Klove refreshes all prompts on a **daily cadence**. If you publish new content or earn a new citation, you'll see the impact reflected within 24 hours — not weeks later like periodic API-based tools.
